Chemical oxidation
The principle of this technology is based on a transformation of toxic organic as well as inorganic substances present in waste to non-toxic products chemically way - oxidation. As an oxidation agent hydrogen peroxide is the most frequently used, ozone and potassium/sodium permanganate. The major advantage of chemical oxidation results in very rapid and significant decrease of contaminant concentration. However - due to consideration of the speed of running chemical reactions - it is necessary to dedicate appropriate attention to the preparation of work stages, which should cover: (a) laboratory tests (choice of an optimal oxidation agent and possible additives, determination of their necessary amount and concentration), (b) specification of parameters of an operational technological system, (c) evaluation of possible environmental and health risks, (d) design of monitoring system during operation work and after termination of operation, (e) negotiation of technology operation with relevant state administration authorities and institutions. DEKONTA carries out laboratory tests for the evaluation of application possibilities of the chemical oxidation technology for treatment of different kinds of waste.
